First Java client application: 6230/i

Well, we *finally* have a Java Jellingspot client for your downloading pleasure ... first up, for the Nokia 6230/i. This client application weights in at 72kb -- and it ONLY includes Adpusher and TextBroadcast services support (because of phone limitations .... complain to Nokia!). However, it works ... so, enjoy. Support for the full range of Sony-Ericsson phones in our list is coming soon -- most of those should work with fServer, too (we don't have any phones to test, since Sony-Ericsson never replies to our request for test phones) .... their Java implementation seems is much better, so we're confident you'll be able to have the full Jellingspot experience on most Java phones from S-E that came out after the K750i. If you run into any problems, please let us know!

We have just released a new version of the Jellingspot client. Changes include: * - Install to both internal memory or memory card option * - Re-design of how fServer is accessed (Jellingspot customers should request the new fServer.jsb, too) * - Minor bug-fixes We have added support for new Series 60 phones, and included "beta" versions for phones coming out soon. A Java client application for Sony-Ericsson line of phones is on the way. Also, we've made some small, but important changes to the Jellingspot server itself, so please download and install this latest version. You can find the new client application under the "Mobile Downloads" menu on the front page of the Jellingspot homepage, and you can find the latest version of the Jellingspot Data Server from clicking on the Jellingspot Data Server 1.0 "Download Now" menu item on the front page of Jellingspot.com

Windows Beta Version Now Available ...

Well, our new site isn't exactly ready, but neither is our application -- so, we thought we'd release a public beta version without a lot of fanfare ... if everything goes well and we don't hear complaints, then we'll do the big announcement as soon as the website goes up ... in the meantime, please crash test this beta version and report problems in the forum, if you run into any that is...

Well, the new website for Jellingspot is almost done, the windows version of Jellingspot Data Server is ready, so it is just a matter of time now. Those interested in getting the Windows version now can email us directly for a link, otherwise, in the next week or so, keep an eye out for a new web site (fresh new look), and a Windows download.

New Jellingspot Client Applications Added

Client applications now added for the Nokia 3230, 6670, 6680/81, and the Sendo X2. The issue with installing client applications on external memory will be fixed soon. Also, keep an eye out for UIQ clients -- word on the street is that they're almost done (tested on the P900 / P800) ... coming soon to a theatre near you... (Hint)

Happy New Year and the best in 2005 to everyone! In the coming month, we hope to be able to launch our Windows (Win95/98/2000/XP) version of Jellingspot Data Server -- it's about done, we're just trying to squash a few bugs and once they've been fixed, we'll launch it for public beta release (to find the last bugs) ... 2004 was a tough year coding on Windows, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have grown fast, and we expect to grow much more rapidly in the new year once we're Windows enabled. Stay tuned and enjoy the ride! JRC Gaming gets Jellingspot enabled

JRC Gaming, the Czech Republic's largest gaming centric retailer, has joined Midletsoft's "Project Novy Smichov" and is now Jellingspot enabled. JRC Gaming is the first store to also utilize the newest Jellingspot service called fServer, which allows Jellingspot users to actively browse groups, folders, and files and download their content.

Persons interested in installing a Jellingspot client application onto their smart-phone now have another way to get the client application. Besides downloading from the www.jellingspot.com/downloads.htm or from our WAP site at www.jellingspot.com/wap, users in the Czech Republic can now have the client application sent to them and automatically installed onto their phone via WAP Push by sending a SMS to:
